"We do things the big guys can't"...
Large companies have to sell thousands of wheels to stay in business. This often involves featuring splashy new designs every couple of years in order to attract attention in the marketplace, regardless of whether those designs have any real advantages in performance. There's always a new technology to show by the time people realize that the old designs aren't so special anyway. You do get to see some aesthetically pleasing wheels though.
The alternative is to refuse or change designs only when there is a significant advantage to be gained. The media won't take much notice, but if the product is good enough and it's around long enough, the people will here about it. This is the only way to go for a small company which will never enjoy the market presence or brand recognition of the big names. There are advantages to this strategy however.
Small production can allow small changes to suit a particular rider's needs; a different spoke gauge for example. Parts are not obsolete as easily -new spokes and rims fit old hubs. The user can go right to the source for spare parts and technical help instead of wading through the layers of dealer distribution and factory.
Speed Dream Wheels has a typical "raceshop" mentality, with a passion for performance, technical excellence and rider satisfaction. First and foremost, the wheels are guaranteed to perform, for your specific racing application.
